Greetings from all of us at the African Toyshop,

 Firstly, were well and truly chuffed that our birthday gift to Nelson Mandela was so well received by our former president that it now has pride-of-place in his lounge.

On July 18th, we arranged for an African Toyshop original, in the form of Samuel Baloyis life-scene of the first democratic South African cabinet, to be presented to Madiba. And our insider says that this Mozambican work of art so delighted the Nobel Peace Prize winner that its on display in his home.

More good news is that Boitshoko Mohlabani is joining our team from September 1st, bringing to the African Toyshop a wealth of experience at the Department of Arts and Culture where she worked as an assistant legal advisor for the past three years.

Boitshoko will handle marketing, corporate gifts, new business opportunities and more for us and we are greatly looking forward to having her on board.

Our Durban-based fans will be thrilled to know that we are finalising a joint venture with the Fresh Paint Gallery that will lead to the opening of the first African Toyshop in Durban on 16 August please be sure to visit us at

Speaking of toys, we have some stunning new arrivals from the DRC that elevate our already very popular Tintin range to even greater heights.

We are also waiting for an order of truly innovative and irresistible products made from recycled flip-flops washed up on the beaches of Kenya. More Tanzanian toys are also expected in the next few weeks.
